I have received numerous calls and emails regarding the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Fees and I would like to explain the best way I can for people interested in joining AAU what the fees are. Club Fees: $30, $60, $300, Club Fees are from September 1st, 2008 - August 31st, 2009.  Individual Membership Fee: $12 Membership Fees are from September 1st, 2008 - August 31st, 2009.

These fees are paid only one (1) time for the year and not for every tournament as some seem to think. A membership card for Athletes and Coaches cover each person for the year in all Sanction activity and practice times for Liability and Medical Insurance.

A team will pay the AAU a Club Fee and Membership fee only once and that usually will average as per following of $12 a player on a team with 2 coaches.

$12 X 12 Athletes = $144 plus $14 X 2 Coaches = $28, a Club Fee of $30 = $202. If you add Athletes or coaches to your team they also must become members.
This fee covers the complete year for all AAU Sanction Tournaments.

After becoming members the only fee that a team will pay is the Tournament Entry Fee & nothing from tournament Entry Fees will go to any AAU person, District or National Office. You will pay the Entry Fee to the tournament Director and furnish him your Roster. That's it for each tournament --- The Roster and Entry Fee ---- Nothing Else.

Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) has the best Insurance Coverage of any Youth Organization in the Country and we are very proud to make this claim. Nothing that the AAU does is under cover, it's in plain view. The membership card is really an INSURANCE CARD that covers as stated above Liability and Medical. Don't be fooled by others claims.
